Khordha: Odisha Vigilance officials today apprehended Vital Statistical Clerk of Haladia Community Health Centre (CHC) Anup Kumar Satapathy while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person (complainant) to process the latter’s application for issuance of death certificates of his grandfather and grandmother, said an official press note issued by the Vigilance.
The complainant was in need of the death certificates for the sale of land which was in name of his late grandparents.
The complainant had approached the accused Satapathy to get the death certificates but the latter had demanded a bribe Vigilance has registered a case against the accused under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act 2018 and further investigation in the matter is under progress.
