Bhubaneswar: The Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Chhatrapur police station has been suspended due to alleged gross misconduct and indiscipline.
According to a notification issued by the State police headquarters, Inspector Debashish Mohanty of Ganjam district police has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. As per the order, during the suspension period, Mohanty will be under the disciplinary control of the Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Berhampur.
Mohanty, who was serving as the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Chhatrapur police station, will now draw subsistence allowance and dearness allowance as per Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code. Following his suspension, the IIC of Chamakhandi police station has been given additional charge of Chhatrapur police station.
This action has been taken in exercise of the power conferred under Rule 840 of the Police Manual Rules, 1940, citing public service interest.
