Cuttack: Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice Dr S Muralidhar inaugurated six new Courts over video conferencing on Wednesday. These new courts are:
The Court of Civil Judge-cum-J.M.F.C. at Kudumuluguma in Malkangiri, The Court of Senior Civil Judge-cum-Assistant Sessions Judge (Women’s Court) at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi, The Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Kendrapara, The Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Jaipur, The Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Bolangir, and The Court of Senior Civil Judge-cum-Assistant Sessions Judge (Women’s Court) at Keonnjhar.
Judges of Orissa High Court, Justice S Pujahari (Administrative Judge of Keonjhar), Justice Biswanath Rath (Administrative Judge of Bolangir) Justice SK Sahoo (Administrative Judge of Kendrapara and Jajpur) Justice BP Routray (Administrative Judge of Kalahandi) Justice SK Panigrahi (Administrative Judge of Malkangiri) and other Judges were present on the occasion.
Among others, Officers from High Court Registry, District & Sessions Judges of all the aforementioned districts, Presiding Officers of the newly Inaugurated Courts and Bar Members of these Courts were also present.
Justice Panigrahi said a long cherished demand of the local people and local Bar Association has been fulfilled by the inauguration of the Court of Civil Judge-cum-J.M.F.C. at Kudumuluguma in Malkangiri. He added, “Inauguration of this Court is another stepping stone to make justice available at door steps.”
The quality of dispensation of Justice is dependent upon joint efforts and mutual co-operation between Bench and Bar, he said.
Justice Muralidhar said that the collective efforts of Judges, Judicial Officers, Members of the Bar, local Administration and Police play a key role in the success of justice Delivery System.
He added, “Opening of the Court of Civil Judge-cum-J.M.F.C. at Kudumuluguma in the District of Malkangiri is an acknowledgement of the existence of particularly vulnerable tribal groups in the Judicial map of Odisha and also acknowledge them as part of the diverse population of Indian Citizens and protect their rights guaranteed under Indian Constitution.”
“The blend of prevalent legal system and their traditional Dispute R.ressal system would offer the Judge adorning the newly inaugurated Court a different learning experience. The Judge can also adopt the best practices prevailing in the traditional system to settle the disputes through Alternative Dispute Redressal Mechanism,” the Chief Justice added.
Justice Muralidhar expressed hope that establishment of the two Women’s Courts at Bhawanipatna and Keonjhar would ensure protection of dignity of women litigants and provide them speedy and efficient justice.
