Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired a preparatory meeting to ensure a smooth visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jharsuguda on September 27.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Jharsuguda airport at 11:10 am and proceed to Amlipali ground, where he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate projects, and dedicate them to the nation.
The district administration has made detailed arrangements for the event, including comprehensive security plans, temporary accommodations at the Prime Minister’s Jharsuguda Guest House, and logistics such as transportation, medical treatment, and uninterrupted power supply.
Chief Secretary Ahuja, along with Minister Suresh Pujari and other officials, reviewed preparations in Jharsuguda, emphasising proper planning and execution. The Jharsuguda District Collector has been given the overall responsibility for coordinating the preparations, and a control room will function in the State Headquarters Home Department.
Ahuja has given necessary instructions to the departments and related organisations to ensure that the work related to the program is carried out properly. The event is expected to be attended by about a thousand people, including the general public, women, students, and youth.
Earlier, the visit of the Prime Minister was to be held in Berhampur, but due to the forecast of rain by the Meteorological Department, the event has been changed.
Later this evening, the Chief Secretary held a meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan with the secretaries of various departments of the state administration and senior officers of the police administration.
The meeting was attended by State Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Satyabrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Industries, Information and Public Relations Department Hemant Sharma, State Director General of Police Y.B. Y.B. Khurania, along with the Principal Secretary and Commissioner and Secretary of the concerned departments of Commerce and Transport, Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, senior officers and authorities of the police administration and various related organizations were present. Revenue Divisional Commissioner Sachin Ramachandra Yadav, IG Himanshu Kumar Lal, Jharsuguda District Collector, SP and other officials were present. The IG informed about the latest preparations regarding security arrangements, crowd and traffic management, parking arrangements etc. A control room will also function in the State Headquarters Home Department, like before.
