Bhubaneswar: In view of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Odisha from July 6th to 9th and participation in various programs, a review meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhavan on Monday.
The review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja was attended by Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of concerned various Departments, Director General of Police, Arun Kumar Sarangi, along with senior officers of the State Police were present in the meeting. Special Secretary, Home Santosh Bala made a detailed presentation in the context of the President’s visit.
According to the information received to date, the President will attend the 96th death anniversary of Utkalmani Pandit Gopbandhu Das at Jaydev Bhavan on July 6th evening.
Early morning on July 7th, she will visit Puri and witness the Sri Gundicha Rath Yatra in the afternoon. Early morning on July 8th the President will have a morning walk at Puri beach. After that, she will return to Bhubaneswar and visit the Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves in the forenoon and interact with the students of Bibhuti Kanungo College of Arts and Crafts. In the afternoon on the same day, she is scheduled to participate in a program at the Divine Retreat Center (DRC) in Mendhasala Haridamada in Bhubaneswar.
On July 9th afternoon the President will return to New Delhi after attending the 13th Convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education & Research (NISER), Jatni in the forenoon.
Chief Secretary Ahuja was apprised in detail about the elaborate security and other related preparations from the arrival of the President in Odisha and participation in various programs till her departure to New Delhi. In this regard, he held detailed discussions with senior administrative officers and police authorities on various issues. Puri District Collector and Superintendent of Police attended the meeting through video conferencing.
In the meeting, instructions were given to ensure the comfortable stay of the President, security, health and medical services, ambulance, maintenance and supervision of access roads to the venue, road sanitation, and uninterrupted power supply at all event venues.
Also in the meeting, there was elaborate discussion regarding the provision of drinking water, seating arrangements, barricading arrangements, carcade arrangements, necessary pass arrangements, media coverage, provision of internet at the event venue, fire extinguishing system, operation of a control room by the Home department etc. was done. Chief Secretary Ahuja has given necessary instructions and advice to the officials to supervise and coordinate every work to carry out the President’s visit smoothly.
