Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government recently organised a State-level workshop on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Development for “Viksit Odisha – Vision 2036 & 2047” at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan, in Bhubaneswar. The workshop aimed to collaboratively finalise a comprehensive KPI framework, a crucial step in implementing the Vision Document unveiled by the Prime Minister of India.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasised that the Vision Document lays out an ambitious path for Odisha to emerge as a growth engine for India by 2047. He highlighted the importance of a growth mindset, shared understanding, accountability, and robust monitoring in achieving the vision. A high-frequency, data-driven Chief Minister’s Dashboard will track progress, with the success of the Vision determined by the quality and relevance of KPIs.
The workshop featured a detailed presentation on a four-tier KPI framework, including Outcomes, Outputs, Processes, and Sub-processes, and demonstrated the KPI Development Toolkit. Three-member teams from each department, comprising the Departmental Secretary, Nodal Officer, and a Senior Officer, will ensure strategic leadership and technical inputs for developing a strong KPI framework.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Commissioner-cum-Secretaries, stressed departmental ownership, convergence, and collaboration in KPI development for successful implementation. The Strategic Support Unit (SSU) led the presentation and discussion on KPI finalisation and integration into the Chief Minister’s Dashboard.
