Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra chaired a review meeting on Friday to discuss about the smooth conduct of Matric and Plus II examinations across the State.
The matric examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education will be held between April 29 and May 7. The +2 exams will be conducted during April 28 to May 31.
Besides the Chief Secretary, secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, Chairman of BSE, CHSE Chairman, Twin City Police Commissioner and senior officials were present in the meeting.
Mahapatra laid stress on adequate security at centres where question papers will be kept. The centres should be under 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Strict action will be initiated against rumour mongers and malpracticioners.
This year 5, 85,730 candidates will appear for the Matric examinations out of whom 5, 71,909 students will appear for the High School Certificate exams, 4443 candidates will appear for the Madhyama exams and 9,378 candidates will appear for the Odisha State Open School.
There will be 3540 exam centres and 315 Nodal Centres for matric exans.
Similarly, 3, 21,508 candidates will appear for the +2 exams in Odisha. Out of them 2, 13,432 candidates will appear for Arts stream, 78,077 candidates for Science and 24,136 candidates will appear for Commerce faculty and 5,863 candidates for vocational education.
The CHSE will conduct +2 exams at 1133 centres with 202 Nodal centres across the State.
