Baipariguda: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today visited the famous Shaiva shrine of Gupteswar in Baipariguda block of Koraput district.
After having a darshan of Lord Gupteswar inside the shrine, Mahapatra visited the banks of river Saberi. Later, he discussed the master plan for development and beautification of Gupteswar shrine.
Speaking to reporters, Mahapatra informed that various works have been completed from the funds already sanctioned for the beautification of Gupteswar Peetha (Gupteswar shrine).
Especially, a road has been developed to reach the shrine on the hill, he said. Widening of the road from the parking lot to the river ghat is in progress, he added.
He said steps have been carved out to reach the cave adding more funds are planned to be sanctioned in the future so that Gupteswar Peetha is completely beautified and thousands of devotees visiting here get all kinds of facilities.
Locals belonging to the Durua tribe met the Chief Secretary and submitted a charter of their various demands.
