Bargarh: In a tragic incident, the 12-year-old child artist Shreyas Pujari who was selected to play the character of Lord Balaram in this year’s world-famous Bargarh Dhanu Yatra died today.
According to reports, today while playing in his house Shreyas fell down and lost consciousness. He was rushed to Bargarh Old Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Shreyas was a native of Ambapalli and was studying in class VII of Saraswati Sishu Mandir.
It was only on Thursday, Shreyas had practiced dialogues for playing the character of Lord Balaram, his untimely demise stunned one and all in the area.
As news of his death spread, a pall of gloom descended on the area.
Meanwhile, his body has been sent for autopsy.
Secretary of Bargarh Dhanu Yatra Mahotsav Samiti Sureshwar Satapathy has expressed deep grief and sorrow at the untimely death of Shreyas.
