Cuttack: A child died when the gate collapsed while he was playing near the the gate of a primary school in Ankula in Athagarh on Friday.
While the school was closed for the day, the gate remained open and children were playing near it. For reasons unknown, one part of the iron gate collapsed on the child, injuring him severely.
The child, identified as Chiku Nayak succumbed to the injuries at a hospital in Athagarh. Local police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection and investigating further.
