Bhubaneswar: In a joint operation, Childline officials, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), and police foiled a child marriage in Balianta police limits on the outskirts of the city and rescued the child bride on Wednesday.
The minor girl was produced before Additional Child Welfare Committee. On the Committee’s order, she has been placed at VJSS Open Shelter in Kalinga Nagar for counseling.
An FIR has been lodged with Balianta police.
