Child Seriously Injured After Hand Gets Impaled On Iron Rod In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A routine playtime turned tragic in the Badagada area of Bhubaneswar when a 9-year-old boy’s hand was pierced by an iron rod while he was playing with friends on Saturday.

The incident took place near the premises of Badagada School, where the child was climbing on an iron grill. In a moment of carelessness, one of the grill’s rods pierced through his hand, leaving him trapped and in severe pain.

On being alerted, personnel from Badagada police station and the Fire Services Department rushed to the spot. The rescuers cut the iron rod to free the boy and immediately shifted him to a private hospital. Doctors have taken him up for surgery, and his condition is being closely monitored.
