Bhubaneswar: A cold wave swept across Odisha, with Jharsuguda recording the state’s lowest temperature at 6.2°C at 5:30 am, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Going by the IMD data, Keonjhar followed closely with a temperature of 9°C, while the capital city, Bhubaneswar, recorded a temperature of 10.2°C.
Besides, coastal areas also experienced a dip in temperature, with Balasore at 11.6°C, Chandbali at 12°C, and Paradip at 12.4°C. Gopalpur and Puri recorded temperatures of 14.2°C and 15°C, respectively.
As per today’s prediction, cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Khordha, and Angul districts.
However, a gradual rise of 2-3°C is expected in the minimum temperature during the subsequent two days.
