Bhubaneswar: This is the story of a 10-year-old kid from Dhenkanal’s Kamakhyanagar who lost his upper limbs and a leg following a tragedy, a few months back. The child, Chintu, is a big admirer of Ollywood actor Babushan Mohanty and has always dreamed of meeting him upfront at least once in his life.
Chintu’s dream came true on Tuesday when Babushan turned up at the plastic surgery ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack to meet this great fan.
Though the circumstances of the meeting were not what either of them would have ever wished, both the actor and Chintu were equally delighted.
Babushan interacted with Chintu, rekindled his hopes and assured his family of help in time of need. The star-fan affair did not end there. When Chintu expressed his inability to take a selfie with the actor, Babushan sat on his bed and clicked a snap for memory.
He also blessed Chintu with a silent prayer and wished him a speedy recovery.
Chintu faced a major accident a few months back in his native town when he came in contact with an 11 KV live wire. The child sustained major burns and was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Later he was shifted to SCB Cuttack, where the doctors had to amputate his upper limbs and a leg. This was all necessary for his survival.
Today, Chintu is recuperating well, the doctors said and added, “The visit of his favourite star has instilled hopes and smiles in the child.”
The event was possible because of the efforts of Chintu’s brother. He knew about the child’s love for Babushan and had approached the actor.
Babushan graciously agreed to meet his kid Fan!
