Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has directed the heads of all schools affiliated to CHSE, Odisha, to record proceedings of the strong rooms of EMHs, Centre Superintendent office, examination halls/rooms, and all laboratories (in case f Self-Financing higher secondary schools) in CCTV in view of conducting the Annual Higher Secondary Examination, 2024, in a smooth and transparent manner.
In a letter to the principals/headmasters/headmistresses of all higher secondary schools affiliated to CHSE, Odisha, Dr Ashok Kumar Nayak, Controller of Examinations, CHSE, (Odisha), has written, “It is mandatory on the part of all HS Schools affiliated to CHSE, (O), to record the proceedings of the strong rooms (of EMHs), Centre Superintendent office, examination halls/rooms and all laboratories (in case of Self-financing H.S. Schools) in CCTV. ln addition, live streaming of all these events is to be made to enable the officials at CHSE, S&ME Department, and the concerned district Collectorate to monitor each and every activity.”
The Controller of Examinations, CHSE, had further requested the school authorities to take the following steps by December 15, 2023:
- Install CCTV (if not installed) in the examination rooms and EMH strong room/CS room/laboratories.
- Ensure the functioning of already installed CCTV cameras with the correct date and time in the EN/H strong room, examination halls, Centre Superintendent’s office room, and in all laboratories (of self-financing HS schools).
- Camera must be tested and kept in readiness so that they can be used on the day of receipt of Question papers in the strong room and from the first day of examination.
- Schools that have applied for new examination centre must ensure that CCTVs are installed in their examination halls and Centre Superintendent’s room.
- All HS schools that were declared as Examination Management Hubs (EMHs) and examination centres during the Annual HS Examination 2023 and which have applied for the centres are required to have DVRi NvR (preferably of CP+/Hike vision make/similar make); install cloud (CP+/Hikevision/similar make); internet connection (minimum 50 mbps); Static lP address; and install cloud serial number; camera (CP+/Hikevision/similar make).
The school authorities have been further requested to provide the college name, college code, name of internet provider with speed, DVRiNVR make, DVR/NVR serial number, user name, and password in the SAMS e-space, and update the CCTV status in link provided in the SAMS e-space by December, 15.
All these are required for connecting to the control room of the CHSE, S&ME, and other monitoring stations with the schools’ systems for efficient monitoring of the examination activities round-the-clock during the examination period.
Failure of any HS School or College to install a CCTV system and to comply with all the above in SAMS e-space by December 15, 2023, may compel the Council to cancel the examination centre (both theory and practical) and report to the government for taking appropriate action against the defaulting HS schools.
