Bhubaneswar: Over 3.5 lakh students will appear for the annual Plus II examinations conducted by the Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) from Wednesday. A total of 2,19,110 students will appear in the Arts stream, while 91,379 and 23,148 students will appear in the Science and Commerce streams, respectively.
The exams will end on April 5, 2023.
The exams will be conducted at 1,145 centres. In addition, the CHSE has set up 202 examination management hubs where question papers will be kept before being dispatched to the exam centres. The relevant question papers were sent to the exam centres at 7.00 am on Wednesday as the exams are scheduled to commence at 10.00 am. All the centres are under CCTV surveillance for the smooth conduct of the examinations.
Examination controller Ashok Nayak said, “All the questions papers of the first nine days of the Plus II exams have been sent to the hubs, which are under 24-hour CCTV surveillance and police protection.”
The CHSE board has directed the students to report at their respective centres at 9.00 am. They will only be allowed to carry their admit cards, black ballpoint pens and water bottles inside the centres.
Students, who had cleared their matriculation without taking offline exams due to the Covid-19 restrictions, will take their first offline board exams today. This year, the CHSE exams will be conducted according to the old format and cover the full syllabus.
