Rourkela: A youth sustained severe burn injuries after climbing an electricity pole in a suicide bid following failure in a physical test for entry into the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Rourkela on Tuesday.
The youth identified as Praveen Kumar Patel was undergoing the CISF physical test being conducted near the Rourkela Airport. After knowing that he has failed the test, Praveen climbed a nearby electricity pole.
As it was raining at that moment, he received electric shock and got seriously injured. CISF authorities immediately called for an ambulance and he was rushed to Ispat General Hospital (IGH).
Till last reports came in he is out of danger and the CISF authorities have lodged a complaint in this regard at Chhend Police Station.
