Bhubaneswar: A two-week Civil Aviation Security Training camp was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) in Bhubaneswar. The programme was formally launched by Sanjay Kumar, ADG of Police (Law and Order), who inaugurated the session by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The training programme will involve 40 police security personnel deployed at airports in Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Jeypore (Koraput) and Utkela (Kalahandi). The initiative aims to enhance aviation security preparedness and strengthen operational efficiency among security personnel.
Addressing the trainees, Sanjay Kumar stressed the importance of dedication and professionalism in discharging security duties and encouraged them to set exemplary standards at the national level. Pradeep Baxla, Regional Director of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), provided an overview of aviation security protocols and discussed various technical aspects related to airport security.
The inaugural session was attended by Debadutta Suranjita Jena, Special Secretary to the Commerce and Transport Department and Director of Civil Aviation, Government of Odisha. SP U.S. Mishra and aviation consultant Suresh Chandra Hota were also present on the occasion. The training programme is being coordinated and managed by Deputy Commandant Lalitendu Mohanty.
