Bhubaneswar: A 14-year-old Class IX girl sustained critical burn injuries after accidentally falling into a vessel of boiling water while preparing for a bath at her home in Nathapur village under Dharapur Gram Panchayat in Bari block of Jajpur district on Monday.
The injured girl, identified as Simran Dalei, was heating water early in the morning to take a hot shower before leaving for school amid the cold weather.
According to reports, she suddenly experienced dizziness and vertigo while handling the vessel and lost her balance, falling into the boiling water.
Her family immediately rushed her to the Bari Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors provided emergency treatment. Given the severity of her injuries, she was referred to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for advanced medical care. Her condition remains critical, with doctors closely monitoring her health.
