Mayurbhanj: The hanging body of a Class IX student of Saraswati High School in Allagunja village of Shamsunder gram panchayat under Bangiriposhi police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was recovered from the classroom on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vishwabhushan Nand, son of Tarani Sen Nand of Raihari Hijili village under Bangiriposhi police limits.
According to reports, after having his dinner on Thursday, Vishwabhushan went to sleep in the hostel dormitory along with other boarders. However, his body was found hanging from a wooden panel supporting the ceiling of a classroom on Friday morning.
On being informed, Bangiriposhi police reached the school hostel and recovered the body. The police sent the body for postmortem and launched an investigation to ascertain whether the death was a suicide or murder.
