Nabarangpur: The Kundei police in Nabaranngpur district of Odisha have detained a headmaster and an assistant teacher of a school for allegedly raping a Class VI on November 7.
According to reports, though the heinous incident took place three days back, the matter came to the fore on Thursday after the victim became ill and revealed her ordeal to a nurse.
As the victim was experiencing excruciating pain after the incident, her family took the girl to a medical center in Umerkot where she was given primary treatment. As the pain did not subside, her family members took her to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Sensing some foul play, a nurse talked to the victim in solitary and the girl disclosed that she was raped by the headmaster and an assistant teacher in the toilet of her school.
On learning about the incident, the victim’s parents lodged a complaint at the Kundei police station. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case against the two accused under various Sections of IPC and the POCSO Act.
The police have, meanwhile, detained the two teachers and are interrogating them in connection with the incident. On the other hand, the victim is undergoing treatment at the Nabarangpur DHH.
