Bhubaneswar: Putting an end to the confusion surrounding the preparation of question papers for the half-yearly examination of Class X students, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has clarified that it will not provide question papers for the Class X half-yearly exams for the 2024-25 academic session.

The Board has clarified that school authorities can prepare their own question papers.

In a letter to all District Education Officers (DEOs), the BSE Secretary stated that some confusion had arisen regarding the conduct of the half-yearly exams.

Contrary to the previous year when the BSE had prepared question papers, schools are now free to prepare question papers for the Class X half-yearly examination or make alternative arrangements within the stipulated time frame, mentioned in the letter issued to DEOs.

The BSE has asked DEOs to inform all schools under their jurisdiction about the new arrangement, ensuring no confusion arises.

The letter reads: “The question papers for the said examination for last year i.e. during 2023-24 had been prepared & supplied to the District Education Office point by the B.S.E., Odisha. However, the BSE is making it clear that the question papers for the current session shall not be supplied by the Board. All secondary schools are free to prepare their own question papers or make necessary arrangements for the conduct of the examination within the time period as mentioned in the breakup of syllabus notified by the Board.”
