Cuttack: Around 60 passengers had a miraculous escape when the bus they were travelling by broke the railings of a culvert and kept hanging from the culvert on State Highway No 65 near Pota Pokhari in Odisha’s Cuttack district late Monday night.
According to reports, the night coach bus was going from Bhubaneswar to Kuchinda in Sambalpur district. As the bus approached Pota Pokhari, the driver suffered an epileptic seizure. As a result, he lost control of the wheel and crashed against a divider. Consequently, the bus crashed the railing of a culvert and was hanging from the culvert.
On being informed, Khuntuni police along with the locals rescued all the passengers of the bus. Only the bus driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and was rushed to Asthgarh Community Health Centre (CHC).
