Dhenkanal: Four members of a family had a narrow escape today as a LPG cylinder exploded at Ambapalas village under Parjang police station in Dhenkanal district.
The incident took place at the house of Mamata Sahu, a gram rozgar sevak of Dasipur Panchayat in Kankadahada block of the district.
Shakuntala Mahapatra, a family member of Sahu was cooking when the gas cylinder suddenly caught fire. The family swiftly evacuated the house, and within seconds, the cylinder exploded. CCTV footage captured the loud blast, which destroyed the asbestos house and roof.
Parjang fire brigade responded quickly upon receiving information. Although the family narrowly escaped disaster, the cause of the explosion remains unclear.
