Bhubaneswar: Nabarangpur MP and BJD leader Ramesh Chandra Majhi escaped an accident narrowly after his vehicle met with an accident on his way to home from Chhattisgarh on Saturday night.
Three people including MP and his driver were injured in the mishap. All were admitted to Umerkote CHC and returned home after treatment.
Majhi returned from Delhi to Raipur on a flight and returned home at Umerkote in his car while the mishap took place. The car lost control over the wheels and skidded off the road and entered into roadside land near Chikilipadar. The vehicle hit a high bund of land.
On being informed, Umerkote police and local residents rescued the injured and took them to hospital. The front part of the vehicle was damaged while the MP, his driver and the PSO were injured.
Umerkote police and some local people reached the news about the incident, rescued the MP and two other people and took them to the hospital. All have returned home after treatment at Umerkote Hospital.
The MP said that the accident happened due to drowsiness of the driver. MP Majhi said that he suffered injuries in his leg and now he is fine.
