Dhenkanal: As many as 12 railway employees had a close shave after a maintenance train engine along with the maintenance van caught fire due to a suspected short-circuit at Joranda Road station in Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
It is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the train maintenance engine while the engine was on its way to Dhenkanal from Raja Athagarh station.
Fire department personnel from Dhenkanal reached the spot and doused the fire with the help of two fire brigade vehicles.
The electricity has also been disconnected to ensure a smooth operation. Railway traffic on the line is disrupted temporarily, railway sources said.
