Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday gave away appointment letters to 6,891 to High School teachers in the State. A ceremony was organised at Kalinga Stadium to mark the occasion where Naveen expressed confidence that the new appointees will work towards brightening the future of students.
A training-cum-induction programme was also held on the occasion at the Kalinga Stadium for the teachers. The CM said, “The employment programme in Odisha is working in full-flow. During the last 3 years, more than 14,000 teachers have been appointed.”
“I wish all of you for choosing a noble profession like teaching as a career. Teachers are nation builders and education has the ability to change the fortune of the society,” the CM said, and highlighted the 5-T High School Transformation programme.
“So far, 4,000 high schools across Odisha have been transformed and by December 2023, another 4,800 schools will be transformed under the programme.”
Ministers Pratap Jena, Tukuni Sahu, and Samir Ranjan Dash also addressed and encouraged the new appointees on the occasion.
Among others, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, School and Mass Education Secretary Bishnupada Sethi, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and other officials of the S&ME Department were present.
