Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday called on Executive Director of United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), David Beasly at the WFP Headquarters in Rome. The two exchanged on transformation of food security and improvement in livelihood in Odisha, disaster preparedness and lives saved due to recurrent disasters, informed WFP’s India Director, Bishow Parajuli.
Naveen thanked Beasly for WFP’s long partnership with Odisha. “It was an honour to join in the historic meeting between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the WFP Chief in Rome. There was an excellent discussion on long the partnership between Government of India, UNWFP India, in particular Odisha State in addressing food & nutrition security,” Parajuli said.
