Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed the state’s public distribution system (PDS) in a meeting at the Lok Seva Bhavan and instructed the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department to provide a three-month advance quota of rice to beneficiaries.

According to an official press release, the Chief Minister ordered that each beneficiary receive 15 kg of rice for October, November, and December in advance. Although the process began on October 1, around 40 lakh families have not yet received their rice. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure immediate distribution to these families.

The meeting also discussed plans to include all registered e-Shramik workers in the public distribution system. Out of 1.3 crore registered e-Shramik workers, almost all have been covered, with only 1.31 lakh workers pending inclusion. The Chief Minister instructed officials to promptly include these remaining workers under the State Food Security Scheme.

In addition, the One Nation One Ration system was discussed, with the Chief Minister suggesting the need to expedite the e-KYC process for Odia migrants residing in other states.

The meeting was attended by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, and Principal Secretary of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, Vir Vikram Yadav.
