Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today hailed the Constitution of India as an ideal one. “The spirit of our democracy. As citizens of a great nation, the basis of all our power is our Constitution. It has always inspired us to build a prosperous and just society,” he stated in his speech for the people of Odisha on the eve of Republic Day.
On the occasion, Naveen paid his deepest tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and great freedom fighters as Pandit Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Maulana Azad, Dr BR Ambedkar, Veer Surendra Sai, Bakshi Jagabandhu, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Utkalamani Gopabandhu Das, Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das, Gopbandhu Choudhari, Nabakrushna Chaudhuri, Shaheed Laxman Naik, Ramadevi, Shaheed Baji Raut, Malati Chowdhury, Parvati Giri, Dr Harekrushna Mahatab and Biju Patnaik.
“I pay my deepest respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity and security of the country,” the CM stated.
“The atmosphere of the World Cup of Hockey has now made the whole state a celebration. Meanwhile, we are celebrating Independence Day today. The eyes of the whole world are now on Odisha. Twice we have successfully organized the World Cup of Hockey. This is a matter of pride for the whole country, every Odia,” the CM added.
“Not just sports, our industrial development journey of Rs 10 lakh crore capital and 10 lakh employment opportunities. Success stories of our mothers, and opportunities to become small & medium entrepreneurs from self help groups is exemplary.”
The CM highlighted education and health – 5T School Transformation and Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, on the occasion. Besides, programmes for the Welfare and Empowerment of Farmers like Kalia, Balaram and Millet Mission, all have created a new identity for Odisha, he said.
“There has been a change in public opinion. The development trend of Odisha is progressing rapidly. People are now emphasizing on various aspects of development, not politics.”
“There is new enthusiasm in all categories. The desire to do something for oneself and for society has increased. Confidence in our abilities has increased. Odisha continues to strive to be the best in all fields, this is the transformation.”
“Four and a half million people of Odisha, each and every one of them is the driver of this transformation. If we move forward with this enthusiasm, the dream of a strong Odisha must be realized when the State celebrates its centenary in 2036,” the CM concluded.
