Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched his government’s flagship ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme in Sundergarh, Dhenkanal and Boudh districts, under which each panchayat is given Rs 50 lakh for developmental works.
As part of the scheme, sic constituencies including Sundergarh, Talsara, Birmitrapur, Raghunathpalli, Rajgangpur and Bonai in Sundergarh district will get Rs 139.50 crore. As many as 3,016 projects will be undertaken in 279 gram panchayats of 17 blocks of these constituencies.
In Dhenkanal district, Dhenkanal, Kamakhyanagar, Parjanga, Hindol assembly constituencies will get Rs 106 crore for the execution of 3053 projects in eight blocks.
The CM sanctioned Rs 34.50 crore for Boudh and Kantamal constituencies of Boudh district. As many as 1,159 projects will be undertaken in 699 gram panchayats of three blocks of these constituencies.
Addressing the function through video-conference, Patnaik said the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme will ensure the development of villages, both in terms of culture and infrastructure. He said the scheme aims at promoting the ‘Jagannath culture’ and the tradition of the state.
Besides, people will also get digital infrastructure, skill development centres and banking facilities under the scheme, he added. It will create opportunities for youths, women, and farmers, Patnaik said.
The Chief Minister sought the cooperation of all for the successful implementation of the programme.

Pandian said that people in rural areas have become real partners in development in Odisha. The Chief Minister has approved the projects as per their request and demands, Pandian added.
He has presented five gifts to the women. These are —meal for Rs 5, Rs 5,000 assistance to pregnant women under Mamata Yojana, travel for Rs 5 in LAccMI bus, interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to Mission Shakti members and health insurance of Rs 5 lakh more for women under BSKY.
Pandian said that the Chief Minister has realized the passion of the people of Sundergarh towards hockey. Respecting their passion, Patnaik organized the Hockey World Cup in Sundargarh and built a mega international hockey stadium which was also built in record time.
Pandian informed that Rs 1765.03 crores have been sanctioned for a total of 119 important projects in three districts.
