CM Majhi Announces Rs 4 Lakh Compensation To Kin Of Minor Boy Who Drowns In Open Drain

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grief over the death of minor boy in an open drain in Unit-3 area of Bhubaneswar and announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to the next to the kin of the deceased.

The compensation amount will be paid to the victim’s family from the State Disaster Response Fund.
Majhi also expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari also expressed deep grief over the tragic incident.

The eight-year-old Abu Bakar was swept away in an open drain filled with rain water while trying to catch a ballon floating on the water. He was later rescued from a nullaha at Laximi Sagar in a critical condition.
He was immediately taken to Capital Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
