Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the family of a 20-year-old college student who died in a road accident in Puri.
The deceased, Swayam Subham Senapati, was reportedly on his way to college from his residence when a Fire Services vehicle hit him on the highway. He was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Puri, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister’s Office said, “Upon learning about the tragic demise of Swayam Subham Senapati in a road accident in Puri, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief and extended condolences to the bereaved family. He has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased.”
