Bhubaneswar: In a major administrative development, the Odisha government has set up three new Civil Judge (Junior Division) courts in different districts across the state.
According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the newly constituted courts are located at Baliapal in Balasore district, Lephripara in Sundargarh district, and Rengali in Sambalpur district.
The establishment of these courts follows consultations with the Orissa High Court. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi formally approved the proposal, marking a significant step toward strengthening the judicial infrastructure in the state.
With the creation of these courts, the jurisdiction of the existing Civil Judge (Junior Division) courts over the respective revenue tehsils—Baliapal, Lephripara, and Rengali—has been withdrawn. The newly established courts will now assume responsibility for handling legal matters arising from these areas.
The move is expected to enhance access to justice and streamline the disposal of cases at the grassroots level.
