Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the third anniversary celebration of Life Savers Group Trust, a leading voluntary organization of Keonjhar district today and said that the development process of Keonjhar will be accelerated.
“Even though Keonjhar is a boon for Odisha in terms of mineral resources, its development has not progressed. Keonjhar is in poverty. So now the development of Keonjhar will be taken forward and all steps will be taken to build a golden Keonjhar. Development of Keonjhar is in my focus,” the Chief Minister said.
Stating that there is a regular review for the development of Keonjhar, the Chief Minister said that a decision has been taken to establish a mega steel plant at Keonjhar and it must be established.
Attending a program organized at SAIL Auditorium, the Chief Minister informed about the many developmental initiatives taken by the State and Central Governments for Keonjhar.
He said that the Prime Minister recently inaugurated Vande Bharat Express. The Chief Minister said that Vande Bharat Express passes through Keonjhar between Brahmapur-Tata city.
The Chief Minister praised Life Savers Group, a social service organization in Keonjhar, and said that their contribution to the society is certainly an inspiration to all.
He said that if such social values are created in every town, every village of Odisha, then we must be able to build an ideal society.
The Chief Minister said that this social organization has donated more than 10,000 units of blood and provided it to the needy.
“Every year you organize 3 to 4 blood donation camps and try to meet the shortage of blood in the district. It is indeed a very noble work,” he added.
He further said that the feeling of saving a life by donating blood gives recognition to our high human values.
“This identity sets us apart from others. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that no life is lost due to lack of blood. Their efforts and cooperation in this direction are really appreciated,” he said.
Along with this, the social organisation is helping in conducting death rituals of the poor and needy people living in the villages. It is not easy to imagine how much the poor people’s morale will be boosted by standing by their side in their times of sorrow, the CM said.
He said that the social organisation has given a good message to the society by helping 600 to 700 families. Along with this, the organisation is helping to take hundreds of patients to the city and provide treatment in the hospital. This kind of social responsibility of yours is worth emulating for everyone.
The Chief Minister said that he has come to his native Keonjhar for the second time after taking charge and his first program in Keonjhar is with them. This is indeed a matter of great joy for all of us, he said.
Keonjhar MP Anant Naik, Korei MLA Akash Das Nayak, Telkoi MLA Fakir Mohan Naik, Patna MLA Akhil Naik, Keonjhar Municipality Chairman Niku Sahu and Keonjhar District Magistrate Vishal Singh were present as honored guests in the event.
