Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the grand ‘shilanyas’ (groundbreaking) ceremony of the Ram Charit Manas Temple at Mangalaghat Patana village in Puri district.
The event was marked by sacred land-worship rituals performed by revered spiritual leader Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj, signalling the commencement of temple construction.
Majhi expressed the state’s commitment to preserving and promoting Odisha’s cultural and traditional ethos. He stated, “The construction of the Shri Ram Charit Manas Temple in Patana village is a matter of great fortune, and the arrival of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj for the Bhumi Puja of this temple is a blessing for us.”
As a gesture of ecological harmony, Majhi planted a neem tree at the site and laid the temple’s foundation stone amidst Vedic chants and sacred fire rituals. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Puri MP Sambit Patra, Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattnaik, Satyabadi MLA Om Prakash Mishra, and Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mahapatra.
