Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has convened an emergency meeting to review the crime situation in Odisha.
According to sources, the meeting, scheduled for 3 pm today at the Lokseva Bhawan, will be attended by the Home Secretary, Crime Branch, and Intelligence DG. The CM has, meanwhile, directed the DGP to provide a report on the crime situation over the past year, including the crime graph.
The meeting is expected to review the effectiveness of the state’s law enforcement agencies and discuss measures to improve the situation.
Sources indicate that the meeting may lead to significant changes in the police department, including possible transfers of senior IPS officers.
