Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended his congratulations to the crew of two Odia films, “Puskara” and “The Sea and Seven Villages”, which have bagged top honours at the 71st National Film Awards.
‘Puskara’ Wins Best Odia Feature Film
“Puskara”, directed by Subhransu Das, was honoured as the Best Odia Film in the feature film category. The film, based on the Odia novel “Nadabindu” by Shankar Tripathy, showcases the journey of Neelakantha as Pushkara across childhood, youth, and death. Majhi wished for the Odia film industry to produce many more original and excellent films like “Puskara”.
“The Sea and Seven Villages”
“The Sea and Seven Villages”, directed by Himansu Khatua, won the Best Odia Film award in the non-feature category. The documentary highlights the struggles of people living in Satabhaya, a region in Kendrapada district of Odisha, affected by climate change and rising sea levels.
Majhi expressed his wish for the Odia film industry to achieve many more successes with new endeavours and experiments.
