CM Majhi Congratulates Rekha Gupta On Being Named Delhi’s New CM

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday congratulated Rekha Gupta on being named the new Chief Minister of Delhi.

“Congratulations to Smt. @gupta_rekha on being named the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Wishing her a successful tenure in serving the people and driving Delhi’s progress. Looking forward to working together for a stronger, united #ViksitBharat,” CM Majhi tweeted.

Gupta, the MLA from Shalimar Bagh, was selected at a meeting of the BJP legislature party at the state party office on Pant Marg this evening, under the supervision of two central observers – former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and BJP National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar.

Meanwhile, Gupta will be the fourth woman to serve as Chief Minister of Delhi, following Sushma Swaraj (BJP), Sheila Dikshit (Congress), and Atishi (AAP).

Moreover, the new Chief Minister will take the oath at a grand swearing-in ceremony at the city’s iconic Ramlila Maidan at noon on Thursday (February 20).
