Jeypore: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday dedicated development projects and laid the foundation stones of several projects at Jeypore in Odisha’s Koraput district. He dedicated the new building of the Koraput District Headquarters Hospital in Jeypore, government residential houses, and the newly constructed terminal building of the Jeypore airport.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Government Nursing College in Koraput. The new seven-storied building of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has been constructed at a cost of Rs 142 crore with modern facilities. A total of 96 newly built residential houses have been constructed at a cost of Rs 35 crore for the employees of the DHH. The new DHH building will have seven wards with 300 beds and modern facilities, including ultrasound and orthopedics under one roof. The blood bank in the old sub-district hospital has also been shifted here.
Chief Minister Majhi said that ICU arrangements will also be made very soon. Along with this, Majhi also inaugurated the newly built terminal building of Jeypore Airport at a cost of Rs 52 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is making efforts to provide air services from Jeypore to areas like Sambalpur and Rourkela.
The foundation stone of the Government Nursing College for young women was laid in Koraput. The college will be built at a cost of Rs 10.23 crore. The Chief Minister said that government employment will be given to the students who pass out from the nursing college.
Jaipur MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati welcomed the guests, while Public Education Minister Nitya Nanda Gand, Koraput MLA Raghu Ram Mach, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, Patangi MLA Ram Chandra Kadam, Laxmipur MLA Pitha Sayantha, Zilla Parishad President Sasmita Melka, Koraput District Collector V Keerthi Vasan, SP Rohit Burma and District Medical Officer Barda Kant Mishra Manchasin attended the events.
