Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the District Collector of Kendrapara to provide compensation to the cattle owners whose animals died after being exposed to live electric wire on Sunday.
In a shocking incident, 3 cows, 2 calves and a buffalo were electrocuted in Tulasidia village coming under Pattamundai Tehsil, Kendrapara district.
The District Collector has ordered TPCODL to compensate the victims as per the direction of CM Mohan Charan Majhi.
As per the rules of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC), the owners of the cows will get a compensation of Rs 30,000 each, whereas the owner of the bullock will get Rs 25,000, and the calves will get Rs 16,000 each.
The total compensation provided to the respective cattle owners is Rs 1,47,000.
