Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday distributed brat items to the women who assembled at Puri Jagannath Temple from different districts of Odisha to perform Kartik brat. The Chief Minister’s gift to the mothers includes saree, chadar, utriya, Rai Damodar brat book, dry Mahaprasad and other items.
This aside, accommodation has been arranged for about 3,000 mothers. On this occasion, Chief Minister congratulated the women participating in Habishyali.
The Chief Minister said, “By giving this, it feels as if I am giving it to my own mother. All of you should use it while observing the brat.”
The Chief Minister further said, “I have instructed the district administration to take care of everyone so that you have a good time throughout this month, have darshan of the Lord, eat Mahaprasad, listen to the hymns and return home with a happy heart.” Medical arrangements have also been made to ensure healthcare facilities to the women.
Majhi said, “You should be in good health and be happy. Pray to the Lord for the prosperity and development of your family and the state.”
The Chief Minister revealed that after getting information about the problems of some unregistered Habishyalis while he was outside Odisha, he directed the district administration, Srimandir administration and departmental officials to solve the problems immediately. He expressed hope that all of them will be resolved.
The Chief Minister said that the number of devotees is increasing day by day due to the increase in population. So many reforms have to be brought in view of these things. The biggest endeavour is to arrange a seamless darshan for all the devotees.
The Chief Minister said that for the convenience of the Habishyalis, a special building named Bandavati Bhawan has been constructed. This year, along with Bandavati Bhawan, three other centers namely – Akshay Pan Foundation, Bagla Dharmachaya, and Mochi Sahi Kalyan Mandap have housed the registered Habishyalis.”
