Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo expressed grief over the passing of former Kendrapara MP Pravat Samantray.
In his condolence message, CM Majhi described Samantray as a capable politician and dedicated social worker. As Kendrapara’s Lok Sabha representative, Samantray effectively voiced constituency and state concerns in Parliament. He earned widespread respect for his developmental initiatives in Kendrapara.
Majhi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for Samantray’s soul to rest in peace.
Deputy CM Singh Deo also condoled the death of Samantray. In a statement, he said, “I am very saddened by the passing of Samantray. In 1998 and 1999, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kendrapara constituency and raised many issues of the State. His departure has created an irreparable void in the State politics. The life of Samantray will inspire future generation.”
“May the Lord give strength to his family to face this tragic time. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” Singh Deo stated.
Samantaray today passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to brain stroke at the age of 78.
