Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo visited Naveen Niwas, the residence of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik on Sunday and invited him to the all-party meeting ahead of the first session of the 17th Odisha Assembly.
The meeting aimed to foster a spirit of cooperation from all members of the House for smooth transaction of the Assembly.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling briefed reporters that CM Mohan Majhi-led government is open to constructive suggestions from the LoP for the state’s development and appealed to the Opposition members to attend the Assembly session.
The Assembly session will begin on July 22 with the Governor’s address.
Speaker Surama Padhi convened the all-party meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. BJD chief whip Pramila Mallik attended the meeting while no members from Congress party took part in the meeting.
