Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended Nuakhai greetings to the people in a heartfelt video message.
In a video message, CM Majhi prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people on this occasion.
“Jay Jagannath, Jay Maa Samalei. I extend my warm greetings to everyone on Nuakhai, a festival that embodies our rich culture, prosperity, and unity. As Nuakhai brings new hopes, I pray from the depths of my heart that it fills your life with joy, peace, and prosperity”, stated the CM.
He laid stress on the significance of Nuakhai Bhetghat, where people return home to unite with their families, calling it a unique tradition that showcases the festival’s cultural importance.
He continued saying, “On Nuakhai, people from far and wide return home to reunite with their families. It highlights the festival’s importance in our culture. Both the celebration of Nuakhai and the tradition of Nuakhai Bhetghat (coming together with loved ones) are deeply significant, making this festival a time of joy and merriment that’s truly one-of-a-kind.”
Nuakhai, a prominent agrarian festival in Western Odisha, celebrates the new rice harvest and is observed on the panchami tithi of Bhadrapada, following Ganesh Chaturthi.
