Bhubaneswar: A nursing officer from Odisha’s Malkangiri, Sanjukta Sethi was felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Award at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, on Wednesday.
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2024 to Sethi and other nursing professionals for their exemplary contribution to healthcare service.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik congratulated Sushree Sanjukta Sethi on receiving the Florence Nightingale Award.
Taking to Twitter, Odisha CM Majhi wrote: “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Sushree Sanjukta Sethi, a dedicated healthcare worker from Malkangiri district for being honoured with the prestigious Florence Nightingale Award by President Droupadi Murmu. Your sacrifice, dedication, and public service are the finest examples of women’s empowerment. Lord Jagannath may bless you with a bright future.”
Praising Sethi, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik wrote on his X handle: “My best wishes to Sanjukta Sethi of Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital who has been felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Nurse Award for outstanding work in the field of healthcare. This is a matter of glory for Odisha. Wishing her more success in the coming days.”
It is pertinent to mention that the National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to recognise and honour the meritorious services rendered by outstanding nursing personnel.
