Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, his Council of Ministers and senior leaders have expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the ‘Capital Region Ring Road’ project for Odisha.
Majhi stated that PM Modi has always given priority to Odisha, and with the Central Government’s cooperation, the state has made significant progress in development over the past 14 months.
In a tweet, Majhi mentioned that he, along with members of the Council of Ministers, legislators, and senior leaders, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for this landmark project. The approval of the Capital Region Ring Road project is seen as a major boost to Odisha’s development, aligning with the vision of a developed India.
The Union Cabinet approved the Capital Region Ring Road project in Odisha. The project, worth Rs 8,307.74 crore, involves constructing a 110.875 km six-lane access-controlled highway to ease traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The six-lane ring road will be built on a hybrid annuity mode, integrating with three major national highways and one state highway. The project is expected to generate approximately 74.43 lakh person-days of direct and 93.04 lakh person-days of indirect employment, boosting economic growth and prosperity in Odisha and the eastern region.
