Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday expressed deep grief over the demise of popular Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar, calling it an “irreparable loss” to Odisha’s music and film fraternity.

Sagar, who had been undergoing treatment in the Medicine ICU at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, passed away on Monday evening at the age of 34. His sudden demise has shocked fans across the state and plunged the Odia music industry into mourning.
Hospital sources confirmed that the singer was suffering from multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, acute-on-chronic liver failure, bilateral pneumonia, and dilated cardiomyopathy with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
Widely regarded as one of the most beloved and influential voices of contemporary Odia music, Humane Sagar rose to fame with the title track of the film Ishq Tu Hi Tu, composed by Abhijit Majumdar. Over the years, he lent his voice to hundreds of Odia movie songs and also released a Hindi album, Mera Yeh Jahan. His contributions to popular Odia music albums such as Tuma Otha Tale, Niswasa, Bekhudee, and Chehera (2017) further cemented his place as a household name.
As tributes continue to pour in, the void left by the young singer’s untimely death is being felt deeply by colleagues, collaborators, and fans who grew up with his music.
