Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed profound grief over the demise of senior BJP leader and renowned Odia litterateur Sankarsan Parida, describing his death as an ‘irreparable loss’ to Odisha’s political and literary landscape.

In a heartfelt tweet, the Chief Minister paid rich tributes to Parida’s lifelong dedication to public service and literature. He also hailed Parida’s ideals, sense of duty, and unwavering commitment to society.

“Upon hearing the news of the demise of our party’s senior leader and eminent litterateur Shri Sankarsan Parida, I am deeply grieved and heartbroken. His passing is an irreparable loss to the world of Odisha politics and literature. His ideals, sense of duty, and dedicated commitment to society will make him eternally memorable. In this hour of grief, I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. May Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath grant peace to his immortal soul.”, read his tweet.

It is pertinent to mention that Parida was suffering from battling lung cancer and had been receiving treatment at the hospital. Parida was shifted from Capital Hospital to AIIMS yesterday. He was elected as Puri Zilla Parishad President and Puri Sadar Panchayat Samiti Chairman. He was the President of BJP State Panchayatiraj Cell.
