Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday paid heartfelt tribute to the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and honored the bravery of the security personnel who laid down their lives during the tragic incident.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Majhi described the attacks as “cowardly” and expressed deep respect for the martyrs’ unparalleled courage.

“May their indomitable courage and stories of supreme sacrifice continue to inspire us forever,” the Chief Minister’s post read.

The 26/11 attacks were a series of coordinated assaults carried out by ten terrorists from the Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba between November 26 and 29, 2008. The attackers targeted multiple prominent locations across Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Oberoi Trident Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station, and Nariman House. Armed with automatic weapons and explosives, they killed at least 166 people and injured more than 300 others.

The siege, which lasted nearly 60 hours, also claimed the lives of numerous brave security personnel who confronted the terrorists, risking and ultimately sacrificing their lives to save others. The attacks remain a chilling reminder of the threat posed by terrorism, while also highlighting the courage, resilience, and spirit of both civilians and armed forces in the face of extreme danger.
